Discrimination tests, also called "testing", can be used to detect discrimination and discriminatory attitudes often hidden behind false pretenses ("the house is already rented", "open position has already been filled in", "entering the property is limited to members", etc.).

 

The event will take place at the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva.

 

In the Hungarian legal system there is no single definition for "person with disabilities". Job centres use a broader notion of persons with reduced work capacity, a notion which includes both persons suffering from health problems and persons with disabilities. The support scheme does not provide incentives for employers to employ persons with disabilities. Máté Szabó, Hungarian Commissioner for Fundamental Rights has inquired into the domestic regulation and the employment opportunities of persons with disabilities.

 

The 2011 Equality Authority Final Annual Report was launched by Justice and Equality Minister Alan Shatter TD at the College of Physicians in Dublin on Monday 9 July 2012.

 

The Hungarian Commissioner for Fundamental Rights has just launched its activity report for 2011. It outlines the main changes in the functioning of the institution (i.e. multiple offices of ombudsmen unified into one), the major events, statistics, projects, and outcome of inquiries from 2011.

 

At the end of May 2012, the UN Human Rights Council issued the UK’s latest human rights ’report card’. The UN assesses the human rights record of each country every four years in a process called the Universal Periodic Review.

 

The British Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has released a new report entitled "Gender diversity on Boards: the Appointment process and the role of executive search firms".

 

As a result of repeated racist and xenophobic incidents, the Human Rights Defender in Poland has launched its report on the "The principle of equal treatment - law and practice. Preventing violence motivated by race, nationality or ethnic origin. Analysis and recommendations."

 

On Thursday, 28 June 2012, UNAR (the Italian National Office Against Racial Discrimination) will launch the national campaign against racism in Italy at an opening conference entitled "Made in italy", supported also by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

 

On 13 June 2012 the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland (ECNI) launched its latest Equality Awareness Survey findings which shed light on public attitudes towards equality and discrimination in Northern Ireland.
