As part of the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations 2012, the European Commission has just launched the European Year 2012 Awards in order to celebrate organisations and individuals that promote active ageing and solidarity between generations through their activities.

 

The EU Fundamental Rights Agency’s Annual Report 2011 provides in-depth evidence and analysis of fundamental rights developments in the EU, its Member States and Croatia.

 

The reports capture the experiences of exclusion and discrimination of people with intellectual disabilities or mental health problems that still persist despite the ratification of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) by the EU and 20 Member States.

 

The European Network of Legal Experts in the Non-Discrimination Field has launched a thematic report on discrimination against trans and intersex people on the grounds of sex, gender identity and gender expression.

 

The calendar has been published annually by the European Institute for Gender Equality since 2010. It portrays women whose achievements help to create a better Europe for all.

 

The European Commission has called on EU Member States, in a report adopted on 23 May 2012, to implement their national strategies to improve the economic and social integration of Europe’s 10 to 12 million Roma.

 

On 23 May 2012, the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) launched a report which draws on surveys into the socio-economic situation of Roma and non-Roma living nearby in 11 EU Member States and in neighbouring European countries.

 

The European Institute for Gender Equality has launched a new database on the indicators of the Beijing Platform for Action: Women and men in the EU: Facts and Figures.

 

For the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia 2012, over 50 European leaders from all EU institutions join forces telling LGBT teenagers they are working to make things better, and put an end to homophobia and transphobia.

 

The European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) launched its 2011 Annual Report on 3 May 2012.
